FOUNDERS AND ARTISTIC DIRECTORS

Cellist Jakob Korany and pianist Peter Friis Johansson have been friends since their early student days. Beyond their friendship, the two share a close musical connection and are frequent collaborators from recording their debut album together to numerous concerts and projects around their native Sweden.

For both Jakob and Peter, Kulturhuset i Ytterjärna has been a place of inspiration and musical possibilities. After years of developing their professional careers independently, the pair decided to once again join forces and founded the Järna Festival Academy in 2017.

The Järna Festival Academy is a multi-faceted cultural, educational and community space. It presents a series of events to a broad spectrum of people (many free of cost), tuition-free musical education and hosts an innovative and high-calibre chamber music festival.
